Miss Sixty x Mowalola

Mowalola is a creative genius and Miss Sixty is making a comeback. I CALLED IT and I have the receipts.

In her incredible Spring 2025 runway show, Mowalola collaborated with the iconic brand from the archives of the aughts, bringing Miss Sixty back on the radar of cool people who get it.

Mowalola has been disrupting the fashion sphere for a while now. Her and her fly girl group, consisting of Deto Black and Chi, slay severely in an extremely refreshing way.
Childhood friends from Lagos, Deto & Mowa have risen to stardom as successful multi-hyphenates. While Mowalola took to fashion, Deto Black rocks the underground scene with her unique Nollypop sound. Nollypop being the fan-coined name for her Nigerian pop genre.
FUN FACT: Deto Black reposted my 2021 story of me bumping her song F.U.N. It's impossible to NOT move your hips ferociously to that tune.

ANYWAY:
From collaborating with Yeezy to produce the iconic $30 exclusive 'WET' tank (that I totally own, DUH!), to her most recent partnership with Rimowa, Mowalola knows what's hot and fun and fresh and DIFFERENT. I'm so sick of seeing the same variations of designs. I'm bored! Mowalola is the ultimate fashion boredom cure.

To be totally annoying, I've BEEN on Miss Sixty. I honestly think that the coolest people in fashion secretly know who I am and find me highly inspiring. At least that's what I'd like to believe.

Me, I'm inspired by what's in front of me. I encountered Miss Sixty originally in 2021 scrolling through Depop during a phase of reckless spending. Depop and Ebay are teeming with Miss Sixty archive pieces. The first piece I oogled over was a 90s mini dress with chain straps that featured the uber-recognizable pattern of various facial features. It's hard to explain just look at the photo.

I have an extensive Miss Sixty collection, unfortunately excluding that to-die-for silken dress that originally caught my eye.
Also unfortunate, I grew out, then back in, then back out of most of my MS jeans. Now, I kiiiiinda fit back into a light wash pair, but during a weight fluctuation I totally ripped them right under the butt. The struggles of having a juicy, perfect booty are real. LOL. I'm joking but I'm not and you all know it.

Another pair, I donated to my dear friend Tonima, who rocks those dark wash skinnies better than I ever did.
OMG! I almost forgot about THE lighting bolt shirt from Miss Sixty's luxury brand. One of my most statement-making pieces if you ask me; and the statement is: I'm cunty Zeus.

I must include this honorable mention tank I found on eBay but never got my hands on. (;

I have a few other Miss Sixty pieces, my favorite being a royal blue, lace, (kinda) off the shoulder longsleeve top with sequin accents that reads 'LIAR'. It's totally epic. Feast your eyes:

In conclusion, I adore what Miss Sixty has done in the past and my respect for Mowalola has only skyrocketed since their collaboration.
If u didn't know about these two brands before, now u freaking know!!! BOOM.
TTFN,
Sara
